We recently talked to Michael Valdes of the East Nashville Tri Club to learn about the state's new triathlon club. Make sure you guys check them out. Let’s start off with you telling us why you wanted to start a new triathlon club in Nashville? Greater Nashville area can be pretty spread out. From Franklin to Brentwood or Hendersonville is a haul. East Nashville has a unique opportunity with the Cornelia Fort Airport and Shelby Park as the perfect place that will make group workouts successful. Why would someone want to join a triathlon club? Are there group training opportunities? Social activities? Cool kits? Coaches or clinics? Team discounts? We wanted a club that could foster community and we felt East Nashville was the perfect place to do so. It can be easy to get stuck working out alone with schedules and life conflicting.
