Tennessee Age Group Rankings

Image
After months and months of analyzing the results from the past year of triathlon in Tennessee, we are happy to publish the first ever Tennessee Age Group Rankings. We have used Utah Tri Buzz's methodology ( here ) for the rankings and we feel that it pretty accurately reflects your position among your age group. If you are friends with or teammates with someone on the list, please spread the word so they can bask in their much-deserved glory. If you think you should be on the list and you're not, please email us. You wouldn't believe how many John, Jon, Johnathan, and Jonathan Smiths there are out there and how hard it is to tell them apart. The goal is to get more people out to local races. We have a great list of races all over the state and we need YOU out there! Hopefully this will provide you with a little extra motivation for your off-season training and those early mornings on the trainer and those cold mornings in the pool. The methodology is very sim

Locals at the Ironman World Championship

It's that time of year when the world's best head down to the Big Island, eat as much poke as they possibly can, and then swim/bike/run their little hearts out for eternal glory and a little wooden bowl. Big shout to our local athletes that will be there representing the volunteer state. It is incredibly difficult to qualify for this race and very few of us will get the opportunity to do so. You guys inspire and motivate all of us. You can follow these athletes during their race using either the Ironman website ( here ) or downloading the app IronMobile. The television coverage this year is listed below: Live race start coverage on NBCSN from 12:30 - 2:00 EST Live reports on NBC and NBCSN from 2:00 - 8:30 EST Live race finish on NBCSN from 8:30 - 10:00 PM EST Here is the current list of local athletes that we know will be racing. Please let us know if we're missing any and we will update. Email us at TennTriBuzz@gmail.com. Good Luck!! Robyn Wilh

Tennessee Tri Buzz is Live!

We wanted to start a page where people could go to find out the latest information on all things triathlon and endurance sport in this great state of Tennessee. We teamed up with the gang from Utah Tri Buzz  to help us on this journey and create a blog that will help promote the sport, it's athletes, and the community that supports it. This is not Slowtwitch. There will be no comparing watts here or critiques of your aero position. The plan is to post a few times a week on all things related to the local tri scene. Are you trying to figure out what races you want to do next year? Click here . Do you want to know if Michael Mendoza held off Ashley Powell to win Toughman Tennessee last weekend? Click here . Want to know where you rank amongst all of the 45-49 year old men experiencing the same mid-life crisis? We're here for you! A few other ideas we have for the season: Interviews with local athletes, race directors, triathlon clubs, and many others A Race Preview and
