We only had one race on the calendar this past holiday weekend and that was the Springbrook Sprint in Alcoa put on by RaceDayEvents. Below is a short course summary from the RDE website. SWIM 200 Yards Pool swim, with time trial start--swimmers start one at a time every 5 seconds, with the fastest swimmers starting first. Participants will swim up one lane, down another, up the next and continuing on as they traverse the pool for 200 yards BIKE 9 Miles A flat fast course awaits following the short swim. The course is staffed by great volunteers and traffic control is handled by our friends from the Alcoa Police Department.  RUN 3 Miles The run here is relatively flat and mostly shaded along the Springbrook Greenway It was no suprise that Jack McAfee took the overall and men's title and Ashley Powell took the overall female title. Results below.

These weeks are just flying by now that race season is in full swing. We will try to get more content out here in the next few weeks aside from our weekly recaps. This weekend was another big weekend for triathlon in Tennessee with a few of the biggest races on the circuit. The Memphis in May Triathlon Weekend, hosted by PR Event Management, always has a great turnout. The sprint triathlon was on Saturday and the olympic triathlon was sunday. Just looking at the results, Kirsten Sass continues to dominate every race she does and for once...someone beat Jack McAfee on the men's side :). Ironman was also in town this weekend with the annual Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga. The Tennessee Tri Buzz crew was on location cheering on all of our athletes (YOURE A BIG DILL!). It was great to see a Tennessee local (Seth Ruhling) take home the overall AG title! Great job Seth!

Race Day Events hosted the Lakeside of the Smokies Olympic and Sprint triathons. From their site, "For the the fifth year, RDE ventures east to the beautiful town of Dandridge and Douglas Lake for the 5th annual Lakeside of the Smokies triathlon. 2018 will again offer the 750 meter Swim/16 mile Bike/3 mile Run sprint option, in addition to the Olympic distance (1.5k S/40K B/10kR) option. The Olympic distance race features a 2 lap triangular open water swim, followed by a rolling loop bike course, capped off by a challenging run through town and across the famous Dandridge levy (aid stations ~every mile). The sprint option is a condensed version of the Olympic course (one lap swim), with a

Can you believe we're already through 8 races on our Race Calendar this year?? Lenoir City hosted a few multisport events this past weekend put on by Endurance Sports Management. This was the 18th year of the Hammer Sprint / Olympic Triathlons & Duathlon and from everyone's pictures it looked like a great race. As always, the results are posted below. For some reason only the Sprint results have been posted to runsignup.com but we were able to pull the Olympic from a post on the ESM site. Both triathlons earned athletes points towards our Age Group Rankings .
